Services for Seniors Centers and Residences

Training for Staff  - MUSIC ACTIVITY TRAINING:  This 90 minute hands-on workshop can be presented at your location for both staff and volunteers.  No musical ability or experience is required.  Training will address music activities for seniors of all abilities. Participants will learn how to plan and facilitate music activities, how to lead drum circles and how to incorporate music into your daily activities.   Full details of this training workshop including the many benefits of music activities for seniors will be provided to you upon request.  Fee $300. for a group of four.   Fee is subject to change in January, 2011.  Mileage fee applies outside of the GTA.

Training Series for Volunteers (a workbook is provided for each participant)

101. Planning and Leading Interactive Games and Social Activities for Seniors  -  $80. per person

102. Planning and Leading Movement, Exercise, Dance and Low Impact Sports for Seniors - $80. per person

103. Planning and Facilitating Arts, Crafts, and Hobbies for Seniors  - $80. per person

104. Etiquette, Sensitivity, Communication and Appropriate Social Interaction for Volunteers working with Seniors  - $80. per person

105. Planning and Facilitating Memoir Writing  -  $80. per person

106. Planning and Leading Music Activities for Seniors  - $80. per person

Volunteer training includes a workbook for each participant, requires a minimum of four participants, mileage charge applies outside of the Greater Toronto Area.  Fees are subject to change in January, 2011.

ENTERTAINMENT AT SENIORS CENTERS AND RESIDENCES

DRUM CIRCLE WITH A DIFFERENCE:  Our facilitator will bring world drums and percussion instruments to your location.  Your seniors will play world drums and unique percussion instruments as they sing along to old time favourites.  Some seniors will simply keep a beat while others will play world rhythms.  The musical games, drumming and singing provides excercise, memory stimulation and social interaction.  Fee $240. plus mileage.

STIMULATING AND INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT - Our strolling minstrel can entertain a large gathering with a sing along, a small group or individuals at their bedside.
Fee $225. plus mileage.
